Why Natural Bristle?
Pure bristle has been used for generations because it cleans hair and is gentle tugging action stimulates the sebum glands to produce the fine oils throughout the hair from the root to tip creating natural shine and body. Real bristle also has other qualities such as natural spring or flexibility; it is tapered ensuring effective hair penetration without risk of split ends.
Why Kent?
The bristles or filaments in each tuft of a KENT brush are graduated or uneven in length allowing them to move easily penetrate the hair. Many brushes on the market are made with the tuft filaments all equal, or nearly equal in length, they are easy to manufacture but are not efficient. Have you noticed how the bristles tend to slide over and not through the hair?

Natural Bristle...What is it?
Natural bristle is taken, mainly, from the wild boar found in China and India. Being a natural product (it is a protein) the inbuilt qualities are unique and cannot be reproduced by machine. These qualities can only be seen under a microscope but the outer structure resembles the scales of a fish along it full length. These tiny scales act as a comb when a bristle hairbrush is pulled through hair, scraping every hair by the scales, effectively cleaning the hair follicles of dirt, dust and oils, producing a shine that is impossible with nylon hairbrushes.
Are there different qualities of bristles?
Yes, although the bristle in one brush can look and feel very much like that of another, they can in fact differ widely in efficiency and length of service. Beware of "cheap" bristle brushes. They are a waste of money as bristle below certain technical specifications make "cheap" brushes that fail to brush effectively or give long service.
